    tinsmith's shop, Blaz Zdunic
    November 17th 1944
    capacity 3 litres

Children's watering can for watering flowers was made out of tin (white sheet) of English make (text in English written with black glossy colour as follows: Rolled oats Quick cooking...). A small plaque carrying the date: 17.XI.1944. is nailed on the lid of the can.

The exhibit comes from the former Collection of three-dimensional objects of the Museum of the Revolution of the People of Croatia, and now belongs to the Collection of Objects from Everyday Life.

At the end of 1943 the Second German Armoured Army had undertaken to annihilate the partisan army (NOVJ) on the Adriatic coast and islands. Through an agreement with the Allies, 30,000 inhabitants of Dalmatia had been transferred via the island of Vis to Southern Italy and from there to Egypt. The refugees had organised their life there: schools, hospitals and other institutions were opened, and camp workshops had been making various objects to fulfil the needs of the inhabitants of the camp.
